My Name and Logo - BeatsUK

I have decided to call my magazine Beats UK, styled as 'BeatsUK'. This is because Beats are a massive part of R&B as the beat of the song is always heard in most if not all songs.

From these sample R&B songs you can hear the underlying beat in the song.

Down - Chris Brown and Kanye West

Kid Ink - Sunset

Justin Bieber Feat Nicki Minaj - Beauty And A Beat

I have included UK in my name of the magazine, so people know it is a British magazine but features artists from the USA, this has been included in the logo with the tagline 'Shipped Fresh from USA'. People will be able to clearly see and distinguish that this magazine is a British Magazine focusing on mainstream American music.

The Ideas and Construction of My Logo

I am going to have the colour scheme of my magazine match the colours of my logo. The black background allows the red and white font to stand out. I have done this so the logo is easily recognised and therefore the brand identity is stronger if the logo can be identified easier. The red text is going to feature throughout my magazine, all headers will be in red, creating a sense of continuity and flow between pages and sections. However, i do think it will be bad to put the headline on my magazine in red, once I have taken images the red may not contrast and stand out well enough against the main image of my magazine, this will not compliment my magazine as the headline won't be seen and therefore prospective readers may not choose to buy because they can't see what the magazine is about.  I have created a bevel/emboss on my logo, this makes the logo seem to have a 3D look about it, this has helped my magazine as it doesn't seem flat, the logo looks like it is going to bounce off the front cover, this was inspired by the NME logo, the NME logo doesn't have a style on, as in that is has a bevel or emboss, it is just a block colour with bold, sharp lines that make it stand out off the page. I have tried to create the same style, by making it jump off the page, but i have done it in my own way by using the bevel tool on Photoshop.
