social class and demographics
I am aiming for young adults aged 14-25, both male and female. The majority of these people are students therefore have little disposable income to spend on a magazine every month. This therefore means my magazine can't be priced too highly as no one will buy it, this is because it won't really attract to people much older than 25 as it doesn't feature the things stereotypically associated with people over the age of 25. Both men and women aged 14-25 are interested in fashion, and R&B listeners will be highly interested in fashion as the artists that feature in my magazine generally set the style.
As the people in my target audience earn little, it seems right to give away free gifts in my magazine. This will attract more potential buyers, earning more profit for my magazine. This is because the reader feels like they are getting more for thier money and will buy the magazine more frequently.
The free gifts given away could be a free exclusive download, a free cd, or free merchandise by the featured artist. There could also be competitons to win tour tickets for major artists, this would be a good competition because people will want to win, and then will buy the magazine to enter.
The Social Class Table
I am aiming at the Class E Population as these are students who are in education, however people aged 18-25 could be working in office jobs on engineering roles, so this means they may not be class E but a higher class, therefore it would be bad to just aim the magazine towards people who are catogorised by class E.
