These are examples of camera shot types.
Long Shot
A long shot includes the whole of a persons body or the whole of a location. It is used to show the full person, it is most used in sports. This is an example of a long shot:
Mid Shot
A mid or medium shot shows someone from the waist up. This is the most common shot used on the front of magazines, however this doesn't mean they are used all of the time.
Close Up
A close up shows the persons face only, it shows detail of the person and is very rarely used on magazine covers.
Extreme Close Up
This shot shows only part of the persons face. It is used to show detail of whats happening. For example it may be used to show a cut someone has on their face, the whole face isn't shown in the shot, only the part of the face that is injured.
Point Of View
This shot is used to simulate the feeling of action, or being there. It is mainly used in sports or action parts of films.
